2% because I am older and don't need the fat. However, if you have children, give them all the nutrition you can. I always put Ovaltine in their drinks or gave them the Carnation Instant Breakfast because kids don't always eat as well as they should. PS: 2% is also good for making foam for cappuccino

No it is not real milk. It is a soybean extract. Soybeans are soaked in water then ground. the resulting liquid that is extracted is soya milk. It has to be cooked first because raw soybean "milk" is toxic. When a coagulant is added to this "milk", the resulting product is what is commonly known as "tofu". Soy milk in its original form is bland/tasteless. I guess they called it that because it has a similar color and consistency as milk. It has it's own nutritional value and it's different from milk. Being a plant product, soy milk has no cholesterol. You can easily get nutritional info about the two and compare. Of course commercial brands of both have additives which affect taste, nutritional value etc. Some folks are allergic to it but most aren't. if you are unsure, consult a doc.

I do not drink milk, and will not give it to my children either.
There are only two reasons which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. There is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Where do you think the cows obtain the calcium to put into the milk? Where do other larger animals (elephants, horses, deer, whales, etc) get calcium? Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.
Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. I suffer fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems are greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.
Do some research online and decide for yourself.
