Main concern in case she is sued, since she won't make it to the court, after a possible default judgement, can she be held in contempt of court - and arrest warrant could be issued? Can she enter US later? About $15,000 debt on 5 cards. Thanx.

$15,000 total, not 15,000 for each.

THe longer 'she' runs from the debt the bigger it will be.
If she doesnt make payments on her $15k debt, in alittle under 3 years of no payments, that debt will be 20k if she is charged late fees over the limit fees and whatever else they want to pin on her. If she calls her creditors, she might be able to work out a settlement with them and it cant hurt her to try!

First off her name will be sent off to the credit bureau because she has a big debt. And she gets taken to court and she does not show up she will be in contempt of court. Which makes her a criminal already. And if she leave the US she will not be able to re-enter unless she changes her name to something else. But I advise you not to do it. People like your friend should not be allowed back in this country anyway. People like her is the reason why H1B visa holders are having problem getting credit from credit companies. Credit companies are scared to give out credit because of people like your friend running away from thier debts. your friend should not be allowed back in this country if she leave this country. And if she stays and she can't pay her bills she should go to jail. Your friend is the scum of the society.

it might be best if she (or you representing her) calls to Visa trying to explain what happened and arrange a payment plan, their biggest concern is the money, and this way you can avoid being sued and have to pay the cost for that as well!
