perhaps because it is spelled 'shepherd' Try looking for German shepherd. Go to the kennel club website and look on their breeder list. Go to a rescue centre and get one from there even better. 10,000 German shepherds end up in rescue every single year in the UK.
German shepherds priced at only £250 will NOT be "from good stock" a breeder who has had the parent stock hip and elbow scored, and tested for haemophilia, epilepsy, leukaemis, pancreatitis, could not afford to sell the pups at only £250. I suspect at that price they have not been health tested for anything and the cheap £250 pup could end up costing a couple of thousand pounds to repair hip joints when they get crippled with displaysia.

Hi there, if they must come from Banbury & you can't find any advertised then maybe your best bet is to go on a waiting list but I'm not sure if you'll find a breeder actually based in Banbury - could you not go a little farther afield?

Here are some breeders who are based in Oxfordshire:

http://www.champdogs.co.uk/breeder/3023.html
http://www.elpendanegsd.org.uk/
Plus a few more listed here:

The only puppies that I could find for sale in Banbury were Great Danes or Jack Russells:

Though there are loads of GSD pups elsewhere:

I like Greta... my aunt has a lab named Greta. They are in the army and lived in Germany for a while. Also, Gretel, Hedwig, Heidi, Liesa, Lili, Lorelie, Lulu, & Sascha. They are all German names. Click the link below to search for other female German names. These were my favorite.

Look at the accredited breeder scheme run by the kennel club, there you will find a breeder that has dogs that conform to the basic standard for the breed.
Also look at epupz and vivastreet and also ukpuppies all these will direct you to a breeder, then its up to you to establish the credabiity of them.

Use the web, plenty of breeders about. Why are you not preparted to travel. In my local paper last week pups were being advertised for £250, from good stock, that is a breeder in Swanley in Kent. In the same column Staffs were £1000 each, stupid or what.

You have to be prepared to travel to buy a well-bred Shepherd.
Contact one of the many breed clubs listed at the bottom of this page:

If you could take a rescue GSD, try:

I live in UK.

Okay, look at classifieds on internet. You will find them there or
Epupz.
