Is she new? If so, it may take her a day or so to start eating. She could be stressed. Just make sure that you show her where her food and water is and also offer food to her from your hands. If she is not eating because she is stressed, starvation mode should kick in within 48 hours and she will eat. If this is a tiel that you have had for a while, it may be ill. I would suggest taking her to the vet asap. Also, if you have just recently changed her diet this could be the problem. Cockatiels have to be introduced to new foods gradually. they will not eat things that they do not know is food. the same goes if this is a new tiel. contact the breeder or pet store that you purchased the tiel from and ask exactly what brand they were feeding the bird. You'll need to get the exact food. I hope this helps- :)

Get the poor thing to a vet immediately! Cockatiels mainly eat pellets and seed, NO gravel because they are hookbills, not soft bills. Only soft bill birds (pigeons, chickens or doves) need gravel. They can get their crop filled and stuck and they will die. They eat and drink all day unless they are sick. I have a cockatiel and I have her out all day and keep her water and food clean daily. Keep the cage really clean, thats a MUST. If this hasn't improved within the next hour you need to get the poor thing to a vet to see if its ill. Good luck.

Try to buy some fresh seed. sunflower seeds are every birds favorite. Try some shelled sunflower seeds. My girlfreind feeds her birds fruit and crackers. One of her parrots is into mashed potatos, That bird eats everything.
I always checked what the bottom of the cage looked like. The first sign of a problem is there.
Is it diarehha. They can dehydrate very quickly.
Diarehha unchecked, or a draft are the main enemys for bird health.
If you notice its not drinking water, get to bird vet.
Sometimes grains and seeds go bad. We don't always know how old it is before we get it.
Store seed or grains in a coffee can. Don't store in plastic, it will sometimes, sour in plastic.
Once a year, or when my bird was sick, I would take everything in the cage & the cage itself, wash in soapy water, rinse, poor boiling water to kill any mites. It kept my bird healthy and probably happier.

Sounds to me like your bird is sick. When birds are sick they will go to the bottom of the cage and their feather will be puffed up. Also check it's nostrils and see if you can see any drainage coming out of them. If you can take the bird back to the pet store I would. Also I wouldn't get another from that same cage he/she came from because there could be others sick. If you can't take it back try putting a heat lamp on one side of the cage so he/she can get under the lamp to heat themselves up. Make sure the bird can get away from the heat if he/she needs to. Also at the pet store they have tablets you can put in their water if they are sick. You said it wasn't drinking any water then you might need to check and make sure he/she isn't dehydrated. Take him/her out of the cage and flip him/her on it's back in your hand and softly pinch some of it's skin off it's breast/belly and gently pull outward and then let go. If the skin goes back quickly then the bird is not dehydrated and is getting water. But if it goes back slowly then it is dehydrated. If that is the case you need to get some baby pedelite and get a eye dropper and drop small drops in the birds mouth. Not too much because you can kill the bird if it goes in his lungs. Also you can do that if you get the tablets to dissolve in his/her water for it's cold. I know this stuff because I raised exotic birds for 8 years

Take her to the vet. Bird die very fast because they show no sign of being ill. In the wild they would become something food by showing illness.

take her to the vet especially if she is sleepy, fluffed up (like when the fluff their feathers, but they never shake afterwards they just stay like that) or staying on the bottom of her cage, if she is shivering and shows the signs i mentioned put a towel on top of her cage then a heating pad then another towel and set it on medium untill you can get her to the vet, if you need to find an avian vet, go here http://www.aav.org/vet-lookup/ and they'll give you the closest ones
