Spanish is only spoken by people that are on hoilday from spain, and obviously people who have moved here from spain (or a spanish speaking country). Most speak English, espcially in the west. In Quebec and parts of other provinces, there are french- speaking people.

There is very little use of Spanish in Canada. The two official languages in Canada, as determined by the federal government and centuries of use, are English and French.

Spanish isn't nearly as useful as French. Some Canadian provinces are primarily French (including the road signs).

I'm not aware of any Spanish-speaking areas, though.

French is much more useful than Spanish in Canadia. I don't think there are areas of Spanish speakers but I do expect that there are pockets of Spanish speakers in larger urban areas or possibly in the provinces that have ranches, horses, cattle (i.e. Alberta).

Kent_shak is correct. There is a small Salvadorean neighborhood here in Montréal. Why Canada, with its easy immigration laws, has not experienced the illegal hispanic influx that the USA has is a bit of a mystery; perhaps we sanction much more severely employers?

The official languages of Canada are English & French.
I guess, any other languages, might come handy - e.g. working as a tour guide, translator in offices, etc.

There are some Spanish-speaking people in urban areas, but not to the extent of those in the US.

No, but French is almost essential in many areas and in practical terms absolutely essential in Quebec if you want your stay to be tolerably pleaant.
