I'd say no, but if you do, be very clear with your roomie that it is YOUR dog, and when one of you moves out, you keep it. Also, don't expect the roomie to help much more than maybe "baby sitting" because that'd be like having a kid and expecting your friend to do half the parenting.

IF you want to then go for it but you need to ask your room-mate to help you take care of the dog as will because dogs can be a hand full & puls the vet bill can be high at time so you both need to talk about it befor geting a dog just to make sure if he going to help you with it or not

If you think you are not responsible enough to get a dog, then don't. They are living beings, with feelings and needs, not toys. They are alot of responsability, make sure you are ready before you get one, otherwise you'd be doing more harm than good to a little animal by getting one.

If you really wanted a dog and all the care and responsibility having a dog entails, you most definitely wouldn't be asking the question. So, no, don't get a dog!

Think about your reasons before getting a dog and think about your daily schedules. Do you really have a couple of extra hours everyday? If you're NOT WILLING OR ABLE TO DEVOTE REAL or EXTENDED QUALITY TIME TO YOUR PET, then, "DONT"!!!
This is a simple statement of fact, which will SAVE YOU AND A DOG UNTOLD MISERY DOWN THE LINE.
I hope you figure out what's the best for you...goodluck!!!

If you are not sure then dont get one. You need to devote alot of time taking care of a dog. You cant just leave them for hours on end and vet bills can be costly.

if you really like dogs...i think you should get one...if you're not sure you're gonna be able to take good care of it, i'd say...you shouldn't worry about that.
I'm only 17 and i already have a dog...i live with my brother cause my parents work in another country...the only thing my brother does is, playing with the doggy...i only get to clean after it, and take it for walks...but it's really fun...i don't think you should worry about anything, just get the dog!!! he'll always be able to make you smile!!! trust me.. :))

you have to view dogs (pets) as chidlren. They are huge commitments. If you get the dog, make sure you are willing to care for it, feed it, and give it lots of love. Make sure that you establish ownership between you are your roomate, and just assume that you are going to have to do all the work!!!!!!!
