Stop asking, stop reaching, stop holding on with a death grip. It will all work out. Just let it.

Do you remember the story of the Prodigal Son. When he came home his father rejoiced?
All you have to do is ask for forgiveness - there will be a great celebration in heaven.
Depression. God has not failed you. If you are truly clinically depressed, you need counseling and/or drug therapy. Clinical depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. You need professional help. I am a Christian and I did suffer from clinical depression. I went for counseling with a Christian psychologist. I did not need drug therapy, but it does work for some and only a trained psychiatrist can treat it.

First of all, if you gave your life to Jesus and accepted Him as your Savior- you can never be lost again- once saved, always saved. God is definitely a God of second chances. Continue to look to Him and He will direct your path. Depression can be medical as well as spiritual- have you checked into that? Remember that David was depressed but He continued to praise God even when the depression did not lift right away? Hang on to the truth that God is God- He loved you before you were even conceived and He will always love you. "Prayer without ceasing with thanksgiving in your heart"- Remember Satan hates it when we praise Him!! Seek Him and He will be found. Remember He loved you first, and sought you first, so He is not going to let you go.

how do you ask for a second chance?
couple of rules i apply when saying sorry to God.
1. don't spray the crap with rosey scent. in other words be honest to God, he knows everything anyway but he wants you to tell him yourself. he wants you to be honest and build that relationship with him. don't make what you've done sound "better or worse" than what it is when u pray to him, theres no point. i used to do it and it never worked. God's a clever old chap whos been in the prayer game for a long time.
2. just talk to god. don't get all wrapped up with the language u think you should use. talk to God as if he was one of ur mates stood next to you.
3. pray with a thankful heart. look around you and just take out 5 mins to say thankyou for what you do have. a guy diagnosed with cancer was in his bed on what was probably going to be the last day of his life. he was alone, dying, upset and felt forsaken by God. but he prayed with a thankful heart. he said cheers for all the things he did have, a clean bed, the worlds best doctors, a loving family, a good life insurance that would help his family, the list goes on. anyway next morning, he woke up, fully healed.
im not saying ur not thankful but its another thing to try just in case.
4. understand theres probably some weird reason for this hard time in your life. God turns our weakness into our testimonies and joy.
5. remember it could be the devil trying to break you down. the devil hates it when a person for God is doing God's work and tries to stop it. however God is bigger and he'll kick the devils shiney little **** when the times right,
i hope it all works out for you :)
i hope you don't think im assuming you don't know how to pray but i thought i'd share my feelings on how i pray as ive felt the same about prayer before and thats pretty much the advice i was offered :) god bless xx

Hi Lkeogh!! There is much power in prayer, and yes it works!! If your heart is sincere, and you have made the decision to completely surrender to God, He will always answer.
The answers may not always be what you expect or want to hear. However, God knows what is best for us. So his answer will always be what you need. Remember that as humans, we often judge by our feelings and emotions. So things may seem hopeless or out of control, even when we are close to victory.
Allow God to be your eyes, ears, and mind!! When we are at our lowest, that is when we are closest to God...and closer to victory. I know this from personal experience. :)
There have been times I was certain, the Lord did not answer my prayers....and a year later I was able to see that he had began answering my prayers before I knew what to pray. The problem is that I was not spiritually mature or humble enough to recognize God at work.
God will close doors we try to open, open doors we want closed, and make windows where we see no way in or out...all for our benefit. In terms of depression, if your moods are caused by past memories of abuse or hurt, ask the Lord to provide strength to forgive, peace of mind from heartache, and ask him what "you" must change. Let go and let God.
If your depression is due to a genetic chemical imbalance such as bipolar etc, pray for the above as well, and ask the Lord to direct you to quality medical care if that is needed.
Most importantly, begin by asking the Lord to show you how to pray through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You may not have the right words or thoughts, but through God's Holy Spirit he already knows what you want to pray for. Be sure your prayers are in unison with God's plan for you life, and remember that everything we do, should be done for God's Glory and to help fulfill his purpose. Also, think of others during your prayers. Also, ask for forgiveness, and let the Lord know how thankful you are for all he has done and will do.
Below are a few scriptures to encourage you:
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
Luke 11:9 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
Philippians 4:5-7 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Also, see my answer to the topic: How do you feel when you talk with Jesus Christ? What do you talk about?
I will add you to my prayers, and I hope that you continue to have Faith in the Lord. Blessings, Miji

Prayer ALWAYS works! Once you come to Christ, you can never be lost again. Once you go to him, he's never going to let you go. No one can pry you from God's hands. You can wander, and sometimes we wander further than we should. But prayer is God's GPS. He always knows where to find you, but you have to want to be found. Ask him to forgive you of whatever sin you may have committed and "he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
After you ask for that, you have to realize that God's not going to erase that sin from your thoughts. You are still going to remember it, but if you can come to terms with it, and allow Jesus to completely take it, forgive yourself, you can finally start to move on and enjoy your life with Jesus.
Please feel free to email me at anytime.
God Bless,
Rebecca

It does, just give it time. You might want to also go see a prophicist. They tend to make you understand things better. I went to see one and it changed my life. I'm 15 years old and I've been lost my whole life. I've just recently gone to church and begun prayer and my life has gotten so much happier.

Prayer truly works. Have a true contrition for your sins. Go to confession, do penance and God will let you back into His fold.

Prayer works. Your actions also work. Go to church, become part of a community, and prove to yourself and God that you want Him back in your life.
