Think locally, act locally.
There is so much BS about the "global environment" that I think it takes away from folks cleaning up their own backyard, as it were. Folks demand grandiose solutions from the government, which is all to happy to spend their tax money and provide feel-good sound bites to the media. The problem is, those solutions often have little impact except to waste a lot of money that could have been used by the individual to donate to a local environemental group...which really will mobilize volunteers to restore a wetland, pick up trash, or pressure a local industry to be more eco-friendly.
Yeah, it's the same ethics instilled by "Think globally, act locally" but without the presumption that we need government to solve the problem. In fact, global government (the United Nations) is actually slowing down environmental improvement, not helping it.

homeless people don't have polluting cars, don't use coal burning electricity, don't wear jewelry form strip mines,
don't live in houses from forest wood, or use any thing made from oil, help save the world - be homeless
or
save a tree write on walls
