I am 19 years old. I weight 106.4 and i'm 5' 6" i'm also a female. I would like to know if I should gain weight. I'm afraid to because all my friends say I should but they are all bigger. Are they just saying that so I will weigh the same as them or do they actually care? I'm not anorexic i just have a really good Metabolism. Let me know what you think.

I would say for your weight to height ratio..yes, put on a few..you sound too thin. True your friends may be a little jealous..but you need to be at a healthy weight. besides, curves are in. You should probably put on about 10 or 15 pounds. you wont be overweight even then. now if you have a good metabolism, it may be hard for you, so maybe that is just how you are meant to be so just do what you are happy with.

I have friends who are really thin like you are. People are probably frustrated with the fact that you can eat whatever you want and not gain weight. I am sure you have been to the doctor in the past year, and if he/she did not say anything, then you should not even be worried. At 19 years old, you are probably still a very active young girl. If you eat healthy and you are happy with yourself, what others say should not matter. You are one of the lucky ones with a high metabolism. Wish I was blessed with one. Enjoy your metabolism now, because as you get older, it may not stay the same=)

I think you should focus on eating healthy and not so much how you weigh. Your doctor will tell you if you need to gain weight and he will give you very specific instructions on how to do it. If you are skinny because of your metabolism, don't stress it. Just make sure you are eating good food because your metabolism might not always be that good! So when you get older, your healthy habits will keep you from becoming obese, which sounds like your friends path. There is nothing wrong with your size unless a doctor says so. Until then, tell the fatties to back off!

If you are healthy and you're weight doesn't pose a threat you your health, then you don't have to lose weight. I'm in the same position as you though. I'm 85 pounds and everyone keeps telling me I need to gain weight, but it's not because I'm anorexic or anything. Once you are over 100 pounds, you'll be fine. Don't listen to your friends. Sounds to me like they're a bit jealous that you can maintain a good and stable weight. Rock on!:)

Your BMI (body mass index) is around 17.1, which is considered underweight, by quite a bit. Your ideal body weight, on the low end of the scale, should be around 115 to be considered average body weight. However, if you are healthy and your doctor has no concerns about your health, you're probably okay. Being underweight is sometimes misguided because people think it doesn't take a toll on your body. Just like being overweight, underweight people develop health risks as well. I would recommend seeing a doctor to determine if you are at risk. Otherwise, if the doctor isn't concerned, feel blessed to have such a great metabolism!

Gain muscle. Work out. Run, lift weights, all of that good stuff. Muscle weight more then fat, so that's a perfect way to gain weight without fat. (:

it depends on you. I am 5'7, 100 and was like this for years. Just check itself from time to time, weigh yourself, and if you gain, why, go for a run or something. There are no laws which will make you gain or lose.
