I'm glad the pups and mom are doing well. Make sure you keep them warm for the next few weeks. If mom leaves them alone, make sure you have a heating pad or water bottle to put in with the pups. You will have to make sure that they have an area they can crawl to if they get overheated! Make sure mom gets short breaks from the pups and lots of food!

Hopefully you have homes lined up for the pups. If not, make sure that you interview all prospective owners and that you seriously consider spaying mom before she gives birth again!

As for the tail docking, it is really a matter of preference for you. If you do get it done, it needs to be done at around 3 days of age. Call your vet and they will let you know exactly when they want you to come in.

Personally, I prefer to see tails on dogs. I'm not that knowledgable about pits, but every one that I have met has had full tails!

i love to see dogs with there tails.....it looks much better. docking is now illegal, there are loop holes in the legislation, allowing it to be done for health reasons or is found to be in the animals best interest. it shouldn't be done for any other reason. leave the tails intact..........if you really want it done, have it done as young as poss and properly by a vet.
I'm pro tails!!!!!!!!!!

p.s you are also being very responsible by having the female spayed when appropriate.
Good luck with the babies.

no, do not clip pitbulls tails. They have a prblem with their equalibrium. Their tails are their "supposed" balance. Plus a pitbull is known for having a tail.

Leave the tails alone. Pittie tails are one of their best feature.

Yay! puppies.

Don't dock the tails. There is absolutely no reason to.
