I have been up and down in my weight over the years with having kids. I have always been a strict daily excerciser. This summer I got way too thin (119) I was looking sickly, so I cut back my routine and started to look healthy. Then after the holidays I have put on extra weight that I do not want. I have been working out about two hours a day for quite a while (which I do not want to do) But I just want to lose a few extra pounds. However, it is not making any difference and I am at my heavier weight which baffles me. Other times I have worked out less and lost weight. I am 30 yrs old, 5 foot 4, and weigh 139. I would like to be at about 129 or so. Has my body just become accustomed to the amount of excercise i have been doing? Help!!

It's probably time to change up your routine. I'm your same height (but weigh 105... not sickly on me) and occasionally my muscles will get used to the same routine and have less of an effect. So if you want to lose more weight, just change up your routine a little. And keep track of your diet. If you want to lose weight you shouldn't be eating more than 10 calories per pound of weight. (So, ideally to lose weight you wouldn't consume more than 1400 calories a day.)

Just be sure you're eating right. Don't deprive your body of it's fuel. Starving or extremely cutting back on your caloric intake can cause your body to retain EVERY little thing you give it, and you can actually gain weight. Be sure you get a balance diet and just stick with a moderate routine. There shouldn't be any reason to over exert yourself with a 2 hour workout. Bump up your cardio to burn the most calories in the shortest amount of time. If you were weight lifting or spot training any muscle groups, you may have built muscle causing your weight to increase. Just hang in there, you'll get the weight off!

your body does get used to routines if you're doing the same thing over and over. Every few weeks tweak your workout, change intesity, do something different, if you run try kickbox, if you lift lighter weights go heavy for a set or two...the main thing is to change it up so your body doesn't get the chance to get used to anything.

No, you might have just eatin fatty foods of xmas break and it is a little harder to get off. I'm sure by the end of FEB you will be at your normal weight again. As you get oldr, it becomes a little harder as well. Just stick with it, good luck.
