It's all about the presentation for children. They love things that look fun and pretty.

Its more appealing to their sense of sight. All those colors are like an invitation to eat the donut or cookie. Once they taste it and compare to others they might change their choice.

I have a six year old and she always chooses a sprinkle donut at Tim Horton's b/c its "pretty" and inviting. kids like fun treats :)
you can do the same with veggies :)
make a colourful veggie plate and you have a happy kid!

Because the color of the sprinkles catch their eye, and is more appealing.The same reason why you would eat a yellow banana and not a brown banana
