Muslims who follow their religion also follow this:
*Muslim men only marry Muslim, Christian or Jewish women. The women do not have to convert at any time before or during the marriage.
*Muslim women only marry Muslim men. If they want to marry a man who is not Muslim, he must convert.
*Children born into a marriage where the husband is Muslim are raised as Muslims.

We believe every child is born a Muslim (monotheistic at least), and its his parents who change his religion.
Actually its more like every human has an innate recognition of his/her creator, which is lost or hidden as the child grows up and is exposed to other religions.
Of course they are not aware of any Islamic practices and stuff. They are "Muslims" in the same way Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were "Muslims", they recognized only the one true God (Allah) and did not associate others in His worship.

There are similarities in traditions between Jews and Muslims. Jewish tradition is that if the mother is Jewish then so is the child. I'm speculating that it is the same for Muslims.

Well my girlfriend is Muslim. Firstly the kids will be Catholic, but I would care for my kids and I want them to go to heaven and have a good moral framework.
Then my wife will convert to Catholicism too. Then every Muslim will convert who is kind and good and God loving. And the rest, the proud ones that we find everywhere, the dim, the cruel, the arrogant - if they don't want to convert then God will judge them.
Children are probably born Muslims (with original sin) but baptism takes this away

having a Muslim father makes you have a Muslim mother too. so both parents are Muslim and you're born Muslim.
but anyway if only your father is Muslim accidentally then you're born Muslim.
