Denver is ALOT taller, in fact it is the tallest in the US.
Atlanta has plans to build one taller, this has not come to fruition yet.

It is not surprising that you can find many similar airport control towers since they are all planned and built by the FAA. The FAA likes to find a good, quick cookie cutter design. Once this design is chosen, they will replicate it throughout many airports until they come up with a better design. The link explains this process in more detail. The towers you have seen match the Leo Daly design mentioned in the article.

Atlanta opened the tallest control tower in North America in June 2006.
