According to leaders of the cult-like religion, Tom Cruise is the new “Christ” of Scientology.
The actor has been told he has been “chosen” to spread the word of his faith throughout the world.
And leader David Miscavige believes that in future, Tom Cruise, will be worshipped like Jesus for his work to raise awareness of the religion.
A source close to the actor, who has risen to one of the church’s top levels, said: “Tom has been told he is Scientology’s Christ-like figure.
“Like Christ, he’s been criticised for his views. But future generations will realise he was right.”
Cruise joined the Church of Scientology in the ’80s. Leader L Ron Hubbard claimed humans bear traces of an ancient alien civilisation.
What do you make of this?

If Tom Cruise believes this, then he is a bigger fool than I thought he was.
Scientology is a cult, nothing more, nothing less. It's a cult that has the following of the rich and famous and that's what cults are all about -- money. Making money for their glorious leaders to squander as they see fit.
I can not believe the amount of people (rich and famous) who actually fall for this sort of rubbish. More money than sense if you ask me. Its the same with Madonna and her wacky cult faith too.
A fool and their money are easily parted.

Yeah, Cruise is the "Christ" and Hubbard is the "prophet"! I know, I heard all of that a while back. I can't believe they would go and say something so silly with the whole world listening. Talk about trampling ones own credibility.

If he can only be worshipped for his beliefs that is sad shouldnt he be adored for his skill (if he had any as a actor ) and his generousity and caring nature for the rest of the human population
Maybe he should think about making his wife and child happy not just breeding converts for his religion
Katie looks more than miserable now she is unders tom's thumb

I think Tom Cruise knows perfectly what he is doing!
The Bible states in Matthew 24:3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"...And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you... For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many...(Matthew 24:11) Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Tom Cruise can believe himself the new "Christ" of Scientology, but Scientology is just another one of many sects. The only difference is that because of his fame, Scientology is more popular.

Tom Cruise is a whack-job and everyone outside of Hollywood knows it. Maybe his little movie groupies would "worship" him, but no one else on the planet gives a flying fudge-sicle.
I'm sure it's very easy to "rise to the top levels" of a church you are making up as you go along.

*laugh* No, he's not their messiah. They just TREAT him like that.
They say all these nice things about him because it's all publicity. It's all about putting a famous name to their shaky organization.
Did you know they even have official Celebrity Centers? Yeah... they court the stars like crazy. After all... they have the most money to spend!

He has the right to believe what he wants. He is a good actor, and his religious beliefs doesn't affect anyone in the world. I doubt that it would affect his career.

WHAT A JOKE. WHAT PEOPLE WILL DO JUST TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED. HOW SAD IT WILL BE IN THE END WHEN PEOPLE REALISE THAT WHAT THEY'VE BEEN BELIEVEING IN WAS ALL JUST A CULT.

I think that he was just on a movie and doesn't come close to God if that is what you are asking.
