Besides running, biking, and swimming, look into the resources of your local gym or park district. Often they will have team sports, ice skating, adventure sports field trips, day trips to ski resorts, and other activities. You'll get a chance to be active, and meet people too.

Also, if you have state parks nearby, check into hiking and canoe rentals. An hour on the water in a canoe gets your heart rate up, and really works your arm muscles.

There is so much more you can do to lose weight. You can bike, do step aerobics, walk, play with the kids(if you have any), you can take an aerobics class, or karate, or tae kwon do, or just about anything that gets you up and moving for at least 30 minutes a day. Be sure to add in some strength training at least 2 times a week( 90 minutes a week) to build lean muscle and you will ose weight faster and keep it off longer! For weight loss it's best to do low weight with high repetitions, that way you won't really bulk up but will build muscle. Also drink LOTS of water everyday. Start using calorie free sweetener instead of sugar. Stay away from the sugary drinks like sodas and prepared coffee drinks. Switch to diet if you feel you have to have soda. while your at work you can do tummy tucks, which wil help build your core, just imagine a string is tied to you belly button and use you muscles to pull that string into your spine, hold for 10 seconds and repeat. Do this at least 20 times, 10 times a day. I used to weigh 170 pounds and by exercising and watching what i eat I am now at 115 and have been there for 9 years. Don't get discouraged, you can do this. And switch your exercise routine frequently, so your muscles don't get used to the same old thing and you don't fall into a rut! Good Luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

You probably hate the monotony of running like me. I would recommend that you try something fun. I use Billy Blank's BootCamp Elite. The workouts have a LOT of cardio so you burn up a ton of calories. With the resistance bands you build lean muscle that will turn around and help you burn even more during your workout.

As everyone else has said, a healthy diet is best. Incorporate a LOT more water to keep yourself hydrated, a gallon a day is good. Best of luck to you. Keep in mind, you have to stay persistant. Select a time of day that's best for you, the videos around around 30-50 minutes so it's not that hard to work into a schedule.

Just try walking. Mile for mile, you lose the same amount of weight as you would with running. Sure, it will take a little bt longer going 3 miles, but its worth it in the end and you aren't straining your joints as much. On rainy days, you can walk at the mall. Just come up with a goal of how many miles you want to do per week and statt keeping track. I lost 20 pounds a few years back just from walking.

You might want to add in weights 3 times a week.

Stay away from people trying to push diet supplements. It's a waste of your money. If you want to try a supplement, just pick up a fiber supplement and it will help you to feel fuller, so you will eat less. No need to buy from someone spamming their product, just go to any store.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

The best would be a good healthy diet first. Sit ups and push ups. Try a excercise bike or tread mill. If you don;t have enough money, try the gym. People who train at the gym will not laugh at you because they will understand and respect you for trying. I did it, and it worked. May take a few months.

Goodluck....
