You won't go to hell about not tithing, you just will not receive the blessings that God has in stored for you. That's why He said you're cursed with a curse. He didn't say you're going to hell.

And quit letting these wicked twisted people who declare they are the righteous intimidate you into stuff you don't understand, instead of sending them to hell about tithes, teach them. I have soo many testimonies about different things God has done for me in the money area alone, because I choose to tithe. It's a decision, but it's one of the biggest decisions you can ever make. Just like investing in the stock market. When you invest in God, your return is more than what Wall St. or anythign else can offer. I'll tell you this, if you think about all of the things that could have happened to you last year alone. How you almost got into that accident, how if prayer was given you would have experienced death and all of that, but the hand of God which is filled with mercy was placed upon you until it should be a priviledge and a honor to give him your little money. Do God needs your money, most definitely not, but what you're telling God is, God you ask for a tenth, come on now a dime of what you make. If you receive a dollar why can't you give Him a dime. You'll give Steve Madden, and all these designers more than that. They don't give you nothing but shoes and they'll tear up. But this is your Heavenly Father who tell the devil leave my child alone, you mean to tell me that you can't give Him your tithe. He just want to know how much do you love Him, that 'll you sacrifice to Him that what you never did. I remember my rent was due, so that meant, not pay tithes and pay rent...or pay tithes and be short $100.00 on rent. I decided to give my tithe and I have a strict landlady, but her heart was moved when I told her that I couldn't pay it all but in 2 weeks I'll give it. SH esaid it's fine. That was big to me because she's all about not being late with pay. Then the next week I receive 500.00. So don't tell me tithing isn't essential. You don't know what you're missing. Yeah but I know, you're missing the blessings of God even more. If He can bless you now and you're robbing Him, well good Lord, if you start this week, God only knows what's in store for you. Be blessed. Sorry so long

The question will always upset church-goers and devote Christians all over the world.
Jews (who are under the Law of Moses and Old Testament in general) are compelled to tithe and offer sacrifices to the Almighty. On the other hand, Christians (followers of Jesus) are only asked to give (no specific % ) what they will. There is no direct instruction to do so. The Lord himself asks to pray, fast, give (not tithes) and spread the "Good News of Salvation" (the Gospel) to be pious and righteous.
Faith, don't be troubled about going to hell for not tithing. Pastors are very concerned about their revenues and more than often make their "flock" feel unworthy if they don't.
Recommendation: check a Bible concordance and look under "tithes". "...,and the truth shall make you free". (John 8:32)

if we're living by the Word we should want to give back our first fruits (10%) and anything above that is offerings--but I don't believe it says anywhere in the Bible that you'll go to hell if you don't tithe--I do believe that you will get robbed of all the blessings that God has for your life-if we are not obedient to his Word. How can He trust us with much if He can't trust us with little. If you can't possibly give 10%, but your heart desires to and you always give happily-the Lord sees your heart and actions and that is what you are judged by---not by man.

Read Leviticus. There are 3 tithes, and three groups that are empowered to receive them. One tithe pays for your pilgrimages to the holy place three times a year. One goes to pay the Levites, and the third tithe helps widows and orphans. (read the book, that is the "condensed" version) If someone tells you to pay them a "tithe", ask which group they belong to.!!! If we choose to receive YHVH's grace and be saved, then we should do those things that He said to do. Some applications are tricky, but this one is reasonably clear. You are not to support anyone who does not present all of Scripture as true. YHVH's tithe, should go to YHVH.(certainly where He said to) not some pagan.

In Acts 2, the new church didn't just do 10%. It says that they had everything common, selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone that had a need. And the Lord added to the church daily.

They knew how to take care each other and love each other the way Jesus told them to.

well to tithe is to show your good faith, giving God your first fruits!
but it can be in many forms!
I give to animal shelters, and I give to the poor, and paralyzed people who paint with their mouths.
God looks at your heart, not who you give to.
most churches are out of sorts now, instead of using monies for the sake of the church, they use the money in their pockets!
