It's called the Phoenetic Alphabet. There are different versions of it. The one you're referring to is used by some US Police departments and telephone companies...

Adam, Boy, Charles, David, Edward, Frank, George, Henry, Ida, John, King, Lincoln, Mary, Nora, Ocean, Paul, Q, Robert, Sam, Tom, Union, Victor, William, X-ray, Yankee, Zebra

The International Phoenetic Alphabet is...

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, Xray, Yankee, Zulu

Nothing at all. They just did a routine check on you and your vehicle - happens all the time and that was the end of it. There won't be a flag on your car. What action would the police take? You weren't doing anything! Just relax - there's nothing to be scared about!
