anything with Shirley Temple in it (Heidi, etc), certain Errol Flynn movies like The adventures of Robin Hood and Captain Blood, Ol Yellar (yes it's Disney but it's classic)

Many of the great older movies just don't get much attention anymore.

the canterville ghost with robert young and a very young margret o'brian. its b&w, made in the mid 40's i believe.one of my faves since i was a kid and my kids loved it too. another is gullivers travels. animated from the late 30's. very good take on the story of the liliputons.for more info check out tcm.com. they have a huge data base.
edit- chi had a good one-bed knobs and broomsticks. my 9yr. old loves that one
