The Bible says: "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..." (John 8:7)

"Judge not, that ye be not judged." (Matthew 7:1)

When Muhammad proclaimed His Revelation, He was persecuted by the people of His land. As Jesus said: "Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country." (Luke 4:24) Muhammad and His followers were beaten, tortured and persecuted. Muhammad never defended Himself, but eventually decided to flee to Medina, in order to avoid conflict and protect His nascent faith. But this was not enough for His persecutors. They waged war on Him and tried to destroy every last man, woman and child who followed Islam. Only then did Muhammad permit defensive warfare against the "infidels". Infidel, btw, means pagan. Jews and Christians are "People of the Book". The Qur'an forbid killing innocents, aggression, chopping down trees during battle, etc. It enjoined protection of orphans and the weak. Muhammad only produced good fruits!

Furthermore, the same kind of attacks Christians use against Islam have been used against Christianity. I don't condone this site, but there is a page called "EvilBible.com" (http://www.evilbible.com/), which points out numerous instances of violence in the Bible. At least in the Qur'an, violence is only defensive.

At the time of Jesus, Jews attacked Christians because Jesus didn't literally fulfil the prophecies of the Bible. Now Christians attack Muhammad because He didn't literally fulfil Biblical prophecies. Do I see a pattern here?

jinenglish, in the original context "Son of God" means "having the attributes of God". It is not meant to be taken literally. In a very symbolic sense, both Jesus and Muhammad are sons of God, but not in a literal sense. They are Mirrors of the same sun, lamps of the same light, mouthpieces of the same God. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth..." but He was speaking as the Mouthpiece of God. Muhammad could have said the same thing. There is no difference between Jesus and Muhammad.

I Yam what I Yam, that charge has been dealt with numerous times on Yahoo! answers. Muhammad never had sex with a little girl. That is false. Please try to investigate Islam from objective sources. Muhammad produced good fruits, and is, hence, a true Prophet.

cthemagicofdawn, Jews also say that Jesus is not mentioned in the Tanakh (Old Testament). If you look word for word throughout the Old Testament, you won't find the word "Jesus". You'll find the word Joshua, which comes from the same Hebrew name, but that is referring to a different person altogether.

Muhammad is mentioned symbolically, just as Jesus is mentioned symbolically. He is mentioned in numerous places in the Old and New Testaments.

If you are speaking physically, yes Muhammad is dead. So is Jesus. Their bodies have ceased to exist. If you are speaking spiritually, they are both alive. The Resurrection is a symbolic event, not a literal one.

Bubba, Jesus and Muhammad are both Mirrors of the same God. The form differs, but the light reflected is the same. They are both one Christ, the Logos manifested unto mankind. They are both the first and the last, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega.

ALL of those verses you've just mentioned apply to all Manifestations of God, whether it be Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Baha'u'llah or even Buddha, Krishna and Zoroaster. Since they all have one reality, they are all the Way, the Truth... They all proclaim the same religion and utter the same truths.

Baha'u'llah wrote: "It is clear and evident to thee that all the Prophets are the Temples of the Cause of God, Who have appeared clothed in divers attire. If thou wilt observe with discriminating eyes, thou wilt behold them all abiding in the same tabernacle, soaring  in the same heaven, seated upon the same throne, uttering the same speech, and proclaiming the same Faith."

SARA P, as I already mentioned, Muhammad did "turn the other cheek". There is a difference between individual responsibility and civic responsibility. He only fought when His whole people were being attacked. Jesus would have done the same thing and so would you.

In the Qur'anic context (ask any scholar!), infidel means the Quraysh tribe of pagans who were attacking Him. The Qur'an does not even say they should be killed. It says they should be fought, IF they are attacking. Whenever the Quraysh were willing to make peace, Muhammad made peace. He was not an aggressor.

I have read the Bible, a lot. And everything in it seems to indicate that Muhammad is true.

Try to investigate Islam objectively, with reference to historical and literary studies, not based on prejudice and misconceptions. Muhammad never said "kill all infidels" or any other such thing. They only fought in self-defence!

In the Qur'an, Jews and Christians are called "People of the Book" and are respected!

Not sure I clearly understand the question posed...

Have you read the Bibe? Yes I have, and do every week.

As far as a "Pattern", of course there is a pattern. But this is not God's doing, this is Man's doing which is never perfect nor right....

The difference between Jesus's words and Muhammad's words are the instructions on what to do when people persecute us.

Jesus told us numerous times to "Turn the other cheek", continue to love and pray for them and forgive them.

Mohammad instructs his followers to Kill them off. In my humble opinion, this to me are the words of a Man. This would be a human reaction, as we all have felt.

The 2 Bible versus you quoted are very hard to follow for anyone. We are only human.

Muhammad and Jesus; Muslims, Jews and Christians were all being persecuted and it continues today.

There are good and bad followers in any religion.

When you speak of the "infidels" I don't see how you can seperate Jews and Christians from the Pagans...."Infidels" would be anyone who is not following Muhammad. Jews and Christians don't recognize Muhammad nor the Qur'an. Totally seperate. So if taking that into consideration, "we" too should be attacked.

Since you like to quote scripture, maybe you would like to add these to your repertoire:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one cometh unto the Father but by me"

"For by grace are ye saved through faith. It is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."

"Ye must be born again"

"Many who cry Lord, Lord shall not enter into the kingdom, only those who so the will of My Father"

Try looking at the scriptures that tell us that Christ is the only way to heaven. When you realize this, it puts Islam into it's right perspective as an ungodly religion.

"For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

All very interesting, but frankly, I stopped caring what ELSE Muhammed had to say when I learned that he married and had sex with a six year old girl (Aisha). In that case, his "good fruits" weren't exactly "ripe" yet, were they?

Hey Gary... nice try attempting to put words in my mouth. No - actually, it was a pretty piss-poor try, come to think of it...

NO, it's not ok if ANYONE does it. For your information, I'm an atheist. Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it.

No pattern.

Jesus is the Son of God, and our Lord and Savior.

Mo isn't.
