Where are you?
In Canada it's 87 for the passport application but that doesn't include the pictures, which are around $10 -15, so figure 100 bucks give or take a couple of bucks and that's only for ONE person.
If you mail it in it 's gonna take a couple of months to process, big backlog, if you go to the passport office , pack a lunch , bring reading material and a lawn chair , the wait is bordering on five hours. You can fill in an application online and bring it to the passport office with all pertinent documentation and apparently it won't take you that long.

You can get them in any Euro country, Morocco, Nigeria, in loads of other country's, for a UK passport, about £15. why don't you get one of them, thousands of illegal immigrants did, they seem to work alright getting into the UK, but I am not sure about getting into other country's, their security is a lot better than ours, shame.
