Here's an example to explain it to you. The Bible refers to the Devil as the "god" of this world because he is worshiped by men and he exerts supernatural influence on their lives.
However, the Devil does not have an eternal divine (deistic) nature like Jesus Christ, God's dear Son. So Jesus is God and divine while the Devil is merely a "god" in the sense of playing that role in the lives of some humans.
2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. (4) In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (5) For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

there is no difference
a God or a Goddess may be a deity
people may have different names for their deity
people may not give that deity a personal identification
but a deity refers to that energy or source behind life

A god is similar to the A.C.L.U. and a Deity is something that will bring them down! All the way down! Amen!

God refers to a universal supreme being while deity is a domestic one. Yaweh or Allah is God while Jupiter and Mars are just Roman deities.

Actually, none, per the dictionary. I gave you what we Buddhists call him then clarified the difference between the "creator god" image that the Buddha is NOT and the "devas" and so on.
Hope this clarifies, sorry if I caused confusion.
