They are seeking to destroy America by taking over. The ACLU is now suing Hazelton, PA because the Mayor is trying to crack down on illegal immigration. 25 ACLU lawyers are suing this small town simply because it's trying to pass an ordinance that will allow fining employers that hire illegals and fining landlords that house illegals. The ACLU is a horrible organization.

May God Bless you.

The ACLU exists to protect the individual citizen from having his or her liberties abrogated by the government.

That is why you'll never see the ACLU take the part of a governmental agency when a citizen is having his or her free expression limited. The ACLU takes on cases to protect the religious free expression of citizens all the time.

Here are just a few examples

Yes, the ACLU doesn't want the government telling you, or me, or anyone that they cannot practice their religion within the law. That's separation of church and state. The ACLU fights against the government giving any one religion special priviledges. The ACLU fights against reigious discrimination on the part of the government.

And you would have a problem with this...why?

The ACLU also protects other liberties you have as a citizen against abrogation by the government, like:

# Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.

# Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.

# Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

MOST of the time when people say that the ACLU is anti-Christian they are simply regurgitating stuff they have been told by people with an axe to grind. They do not take the time or make the effort to find out what the ACLU actually does.

The ACLU doesn't decide, in and of itself, to sue the government. They represent citizens who ASK the ACLU to sue on their behalf. So if people do not contact them, the ACLU has it's hands tied. Obviously quite a few Christians, and other religious people, have asked the ACLU to act on their behalf when their right to religious free expression within the law has been abrogated. These folks would disagree that the ACLU is anti-Christian.

The ACLU started out as a wonderful organization, but after having done so much for civil rights, they've become a joke, suing for the joy of suing, regardless of right or wrong. They've gone from protecting civil rights to taking them away. They're a lot like PETA, started off with the best of intentions, then got taken over by raving lunatics.

Sure are a lot of anti-American folks, aren't there?

The ACLU works to protect Americans' civil liberties.

Later: (re. the comments below)
Okay, I just read HR 254, and while it looks overly PC to me, I don't see anything there suggesting that it requires people to be atheists. I suggest that you use more reliable sources for your information.

They stand up to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Yes, separation of church and state is a worthy part of that.
