Imagine a basket of fruit fresh from the picking fields. The fruit (or veg, for that matter) is graded. The best fruit is selected and placed into boxes to be sold as Grade 1, the rest is sold as Grade 2. So if you see a sign instore that says "selected apples" for instance, and another that just says "apples", don't expect to find a perfect fruit in the "apples" pile - they have already been selected out.

I really like both fruits and fruit and vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

If perhaps it's a fruit it includes seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
