Then why does Jesus constantly pray to God? If he was God most high, then why? As in many cases when he prays, it isn't even an example to his folloers, sometimes he's recorded praying for strength.....why would God pray to himself for strength if he is "all powerful"? And if the truth be told about the original sing, to compensate for what adam did, tooth for tooth/life for life, shouldn't the one who came to earth be able to prove loyal to God or to prove otherwise, in order to completely justify God's right to rule? That was the universal question brought up in the garden of eden. God's right to rule, knowing good and bad. So if HE himself came to give soul for soul, how could that have justly compensated for adam's sin? Isn't the reason Jesus was God's son proved by the fact that he was ABLE to be tempted by saten? That he COULD have failed as Adam did? Otherwise what was the point? Please answer, with proof.......

Luke 22:39-46 Jesus withdrew from his disciples and prayed to GOD....

39. "And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

42 saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.

43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

46 and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation."

John 5:25,26 If Jesus is God then Why does YOU bible say God gave the son life? and Jesus has power given, or handed to by God?

25 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27 and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man

(please understand I mean no disrespect, I'm just curious as to your beliefs....THANK YOU ALL)

(And to those of you who don't understand.....I DO NOT BELIEVE, AND NEVER HAVE, THAT JESUS IS GOD....I do believe, however, that jesus is the reason I have hope....throuugh his sacrifice, this is what I, as one of Jehovah's witnesses, believe. )

Thanks again! :)

taff3, I don't understand half of what you said, if "God/jesus" came to earth without his "powers" then how was he resurrected after 3 days, and if he had his "powers" what point would that have made? Everything that those say , proving their belief of God andJesus being one, is contradictory to itself. If God was Jusus, and he wanted to show us how to live, why would he give us an example of HIM, something we could not follow? And again. No sense....the scriptures are not contradictory to each other.....Explain.....if you can..... :) (and thanks for the response)

Jesus is not Almighty God; he is a distinct person from God (the Father).

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

I had to check this up but dont know why i bothered, your just gonna stick your head in the sand and play the gam but here it goes.

Part of it may be.

1.you have to be human in order to die.

2.God doesnt break promises easily,God made a covenent with the jewish people.
Abraham offered his only son for God,this was the basis for the covenent.
In return,God the Father offered his only for mankind, thus began a new covenent.

Also i dont know what the story with the devil is and why dying for our sins saved us,i will hopefully get this soon.I reckon there must have been a seperate dialogue going on with the devil at this time that hasnt been recorded for our benefit.

If Jesus was God he should have had Gods power independant of the Father on earth?
Well the devil tried to pull the same stroke when Our Lord Jesus fasted in the desert.
The message of Jesus was to show us He understood us as men, that he could understand mans plight and also to show us an example to follow,
i think this may have been an important part of the mission.
If God the Son had all these godly powers you seek then you would accuse him of not really being a man and you would say,"how can you understand us?""first sign of trouble and you magic your way out"
Maybe the Father put these inhibiters on the Son.because this was so important.

I'm pretty sure i could have explained this better.

If your interested in the truth dont take my word for it,read John chapter 3 if youve any doubts,

I don't see your question as being disrespectful at all. And to me it's a very legitimate question. A lot of people believe in the Trinity that God, Jesus, and the holy spirit are all one force. And this just isn't so. God is the father and Jesus is the son. Point blank....... If you look at 2 Peter 1:17,18 It reads And he received honor and glory from God the father when God's glorious, majestic voicee called down from heaven, This is my beloved son; I am fully pleased with him. We ourselves heard the voic when we were there with him on the holy mountain. See my friend most people read the bible and never really get a good understanding of what their reading, or they turn the words around to justify their own actions or belief. I promise you if you continue to read and ask for understanding he will surely give it to you. I hope you have a blessed day. :)

Jesus, the Son of God, is God in the fact He is of God. The Bible says Jesus sits at the right side of God showing He is separate. Jesus also states the only way to God is through Him, again a separate deity.

Friend,
Jesus is NOT GOD , He's the son of God .

God created Adam in HIS own image and Eve from Adam! HE created them to be happy and live for ever with their offspring's! But due to their disobedience ,they had to be punished. But, remember, there were many other angels in the garden who also heard the false information from the Satan .So if GOD was not just, HE could have destroyed Satan then .(Book of Genesis)

To prove that HE 's GOD of JUSTICE,LOVE,POWER AND COMPASSION, HE 's given time for us to prove to SATAN , that we love GOD ,even if we have nothing (Book of JOB).

BLOOD - was and is the symbol of sacrifice from the time of Israelites.. For BLOOD is pure and its the life. (Genesis 2) (The first murder explains in detail about the importance of BLOOD).

Our creator -so loving ,didn't want us to be suffering for ever. But HE had to be just and not change rules! HE wants to get HIS people back! But how?

ADAM was created as a perfect human being. The sin he committed could only be erased by another perfect human. That's the reason why HE sent HIS Only Begotten Beloved SON to be born as a HUMAN , undergo suffering and shed till his last drop of blood to save God's children. (Predication's about the Messiah -Throughout Old testament and the Executions in the New Testament).

The world we are living in belongs to Satan and that's why he said to Jesus "If u worship me,i will give u this world to rule".

Since , Jesus had lived with GOD for long long time (unknown to human) ,He knew HIM ,HIS Power and HIS Qualities than ADAM. He could never fail! His objective was to give us an eternal life!

So Jesus, the son of God , who is THE WORD of GOD (Revelation and Genesis ) , came to redeem us from the sins of ADAM and Eve!

That's also the reason why we always pray to GOD , through the intermediate of Jesus Christ!

Hope this helps u to clarify ur doubts!

Jesus is God. When he came to Earth and took human form he willingly gave up his deity for that period of time, so he could walk with His people, live like them, and ultimately suffer like them and for them. As a man, Jesus prayed to His creator and His Lord, God.
