For the myth to make sense the main character had to die. According to the Gospel of Judas, Jesus was actually involved in orchestrating it.

According to the 4 Gospels it was if He was to live, He might fight for His kingdom as the Pharasee's thought. They did not usderstand His reason to come to earth. Satan wanted Him dead so He could not oppose him any longer. Satan is the prince of the earth and he wants everyone to do as he does, lie, cheat and steal. If he could gain control Christ would have died for nothing. When Christ died, he had victory over death and the grave. Satan opposed this because he had the keys before that.
It is written that Satan would bite Christ's heal, but Christ would crush Satan's head (take control of the earth). This does not mean that Satan would not continue to be a prince, but be thrown into the abiss. Another thing to think about, in Revelation it is written that Satan must be released for a Short time after Christ reigns for 1000 years. This is in according to the Bible where he gets a second chance to rule the world. In the Bible, most of the time things are mentioned twice and this is the reason that Satan gets a second chance for a short time.

I think the Romans wanted him dead because they thought a rebellion might spring up around him. Some people thought the Messiah was supposed to be a military leader who would defeat the Romans and the Jews could govern themselves. When people started calling Jesus the Messiah, he was doomed.

Because he was constantly bugging some powers at be with his preaching against authority. That's why christianity follows the teachings of Paul and not those of Jesus. As you know christianity is about accepting authority, submission ,slavery, discipline etc.... Very far from Jesus preaching.

Because, like today they didn't want to stop commiting their sins. Why do you think so many people hate Jesus today? And if you think people don't hate Jesus today, just do some research. The Bible says you will be hated for my Name's sake. Mathew 24:9

the priests killed Jesus because Jesus taught people that they didnt need to do anything to 'get into' heaven or be loved by God.
Jesus taught His followers to eliminate the middle-men (the priest class-who were in charge of enforcing the scriptural laws, collecting tithes, and managing the sacrifices, etc) and taught us all that God is 'within' us, freely available, and God does not require anything from us to be His beloved children

If he existed and if the story has any truth to it (which is not certain at all), then he was killed because he preached an apostasy. It's the same reason some Christians want Muslims to be dead.

The Jews wanted him dead because of his blasphemy against their beliefs.

The Romans wanted him dead because he was causing tension between the people...religious turmoil.

Definately the wrong time to be a little rebel.

Mostly because Jesus said that He was the Son of God (or that God was His Father). This made Jesus equal with God and there fore they considered that blasphemy, and that meant death.

because Jesus ( pbuh ) a messenger of God was warning people of sin and spreading the messege of God. Those in power viewed this as a threat to their own greed and power. People in power like the monopoly and don't want to let it go. So the Jewish leadership asked the Romans to kill Jesus ( pbuh ) Fortunately God did not allow his messenger to be humiliated in this fashion
