If you live in the US, hopefully the employer is withholding taxes on you. What you do when you file taxes is report what you have paid, and how you file can determine how much of what you paid you may get back from the Govt. Find a Tax service to do it for you or use the tax software that will help determine if there are more exemptions that may get you more $ back!

Make sure your exemption is set at 0 so they take taxes through out the year. If you own a home you can itemize and maybe able to get some money back.
