You will need a PCR (viral load) blood test which will test for detectable levels of virus. If it detects any virus, then you are in the majority of people who have chronic infection. If it does not detect any virus, then you are one of the lucky 20% who clear it on their own. Best wishes.

i would like to add to cindys very well put post....
if you are a carrier of hcv your still contagious.
as for treatment in the philippines, you would have to inquire about treatment through your doctor.
antiviral chemotherapy is the treatment. it is a self injected shot once a week with or without ribavirin-a pill you will take daily depdending on your weight.
