First of all "gebob" seems to be stuck on the notion that spell casting is like what they do in "Charmed", Bewitched" & "Sabrina". Sorry, it is not.
Do spells work? Yes. But most of it takes a lot of study and practice.
I am well versed in herbal & gemstone magick. I can ease pain, I can make your cold last only 3 days as opposed to a week, possibly even stop it before it takes hold. I am married to a wonderful person who is pretty much at my beck & call (but not really because I cast a spell on him, the spell was on ME). I am living a lifestyle that most of you only dream about. Not wealthy, far from it, but satisfying.
One example of a spell, and one cannot say that it works because the person involved believes it would. The "person" in question is a cat. The vet said he would not live to 8 years. He is now 14 and still going strong.
I do not get colds or the flu, however there was not much I could do about an inherited genetic disorder, so I live with that. Karma from my last life I suppose.
I use a number of divination tools so I have a heads up on what is coming. Much might be contributed to common sense. I have been able to avoid a number of major vehicle accidents because I knew when & where they would occur.
I predicted the earthquake in the gulf 3 days before it happened, the same with the one in Hawaii. But I don't understand why I don't feel them for other parts of the world. Focused on my own country I suppose.
You must keep in mind. however, that casting spells is no more than a more focused form of prayer and the knowledge of what herbs have what effect and how to use them. Divination is simply the ability to tap into the powers of the Universe to obtain information. Most people actually do this to a degree with no tools and without thinking, it is called intuition.
I use visuzlization a lot. That is the ability to actually see your objective and obtain it. That does take a lot of concentration, and really anyone can do it if they set their mind to it.

Yes and yes. Wicca is not a quick fix with spells, though...and unlike the televised shows like Charmed and Bewitched, it doesn't work anything like that. One must practice and learn before any real success will be found.

Yes, it can work depending on the knowledge and skill of the practitioner. Of course it doesn't work like it is shown in fictional stories and TV.

I think most real Wiccan spells are just like when christians pray, they light candles, incense, use stones ect... the only difference is that they are praying to their goddess. either way it takes faith.
