Get as physically and mentally in shape as you can. The academy will be like Marine Corps boot camp, and you'll need to be strong - in all areas - to make it through. The hardest part will probably be the psychological stress - they'll try to "break you down and weed you out" by using all sorts of harassment - so you're going to have to be ready for that.
By the way - if you decide while you're in there that it really isn't for you, don't let worrying about what others might think make you stay on regardless. When you start heading the wrong way on the road of life, the best thing to do is make a U-turn as quickly as you can rather than to keep heading in a direction that's going to mean you spend your life doing something that's wrong for you.
