It seems that we are not aware of the need for relevant information about our own rights regarding warranties and what decisions to make in this matter. Am I the only one who feels left in the dark?

First of all, I would not buy a big ticket item from a low end store, whether in store, or on-line. In my experience, those extended warranties are suspect, because if you take the time to read the fine print, there are more things it won't cover, than what it will. That's my honest answer. Hope you make the right decision, whatever it is. Good Luck.

I have never made out ok on an extended warranty. The last trick that was played on me was through MICRO CENTER in columbus ohio. They sold me an extended warranty that added 2 years to the original warranty. What they didnt tell me is that the warranty was worthless the first 12 months because it only took effect on the 13th month. My item broke in 90 days and they refused to replace it.
STAY AWAY FROM EXTENDED WARRANTIES they are a ripoff almost 100% of the time.

I'm with Gee Dub. I've had one company that held the warranty go out of business. The same thing happened with a friend. They are NOT a good deal.

basically, if you are buying them, you are getting screwed! if something is going to fail then most likely its going to fail well within the manufacturers warranty period.
