I think they can see the distance of a football field. They have hooked beaks so they can tear their food apart because they eat small animals and birds so they need to butcher their dinner. The beak is hard nail like material and wouldn't be flexible unless the animal was ill.

Here in Alaska where Eagles are all over, they fly literally miles to migrate to the next stop. Its hard to calculate miles, but they fly from Southeast Alaska to the Lower 48 and Homer, Alaska, during the winters. Eagles beaks do not bend any farther than they are when they are adults. They are bent slightly so they can rip and tear fish apart and other food they find. Adults keep with their young for up to a year, and they mate for life. Incredible animals! Their eyesite is amazing as well. They can be up to 200 ft in the air and see things on the earth and see it.

A lot further than the human eye can see. An eagle can see a rabbit about 1 mile or 1760 yards away. Now the average person needs to be about 550 yards away to see the same rabbit. That's why when someone says "you must have eagle eyes," they mean you can see really far.

They have a hooked beak to help them tear off flesh easily...
Eagles are carnivores.

They have an exhibit set up at the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, Michigan that has an "Eagle Eye" spot to show you the distance an Eagle can see. It is one mile, give or take. They have a telescope to show you what an Eagle can see at that distance. It's pretty cool.

I wonder too if our parrots can see those same distances.
