when i start to run on the treadmill, i usually get this shart pain somewhere on my stomach-right under ribcage, below breasts, or somewhere in the middle of my stomach. the more i run, the more it hurts when i breathe. i've tried not eating AND eating before workouts, but i still get it anyways no matter what i do. i've had it since as i can remember i started running since highschool. i get it about 3 min. into my running. it does stop hurting when i stop running, though. i want to try and run long distances, but i can never do it because of the pain. my breasts aren't big, so i dont think that is the reason. when i get it, the more i continue to run, the more it starts hurting. i've tried different breathing techniques-in thru nose, out thru mouth, only through nose, but that doesn help either. what can this be? any suggestions to make it stop?

If it is of recent origin, it is probably muscle strain! Anyway, you need to take it easy for some time, gradually work up the pitch after you get over the present problem, with medical help, if so required!

The same thing happens to my daughter when she run on the treadmill she thought it was from drinking too much water before and during her run so she stopped drinking to much water and she said it seemed to help so maybe you should try that.

This could be something you bring up with your Doctor.....He/she can ease your mind and figure it out...you don't say your age, so a guess is a moot point....go to where you will get a professional, proper answer!!
