I just started with a line of candles and I am trying to find out more information about the competition (if there is any).

Two of the best sellers are PartyLite and Yankee Candles. They both burn well with little or no soot, do not drip wax, have lead free wicks and have the biggest variety of scents.

there are two company's the g/f and i like, the first is www.honeycombhollowcandles.com theirs are made with 50% beeswax,50% paraffin, hand poured, so they burn cleaner. also the beeswax adds a honey scent to the candles, like honey orange spice, a great scent. they are in cape cod. the other company is www.freedomcandleco.com and they are located in CT. their candles are also hand poured and burn cleanly. we live in CT and are right down the highway from yankee candle co. in MA, the g/f buys some of their candles but they aren't our favorites. we easily drop $200-300. when up at the cape, with what we save on shipping, it's like getting 2 or 3 for free. consider giving customers 5-10% off on orders over $100., it encourages those types of orders. or offer free shipping on them. good luck.

Another candle company, some of the best Village Candles, Yankee, Old South, MVP candles, etc. I think the ones made with soy oils last longer.

I like the scents of the "Salt City Candle Co.". They have one called "Christmas Trimmings" and if you have an artificial tree use one of these candles and it makes it smell like a fresh tree.

I don't have a named-brand favorite...but my favorites are usually soy based. My favorite scents are roses, cinnamon bun and apple/cinnamon for casual home scent. For a cleaner scent I choose vanilla or clean cotton. You can't get good scents like those at the grocery store.
Good Luck!
