She eats kitten food, but won't drink water, though she will drink milk. What should I do? She cries when she uses her litter tray. She is otherwise very alert and playful, but this worries me.

You should stop giving her milk.
Most cats can't tolorate it as some are lactose intolorant.
I've never heard of it causing constipation though, it's been my experiance that it will cause them to have runny stools.

If she's crying when she goes to the litter box, then please take her to the Vet and have things checked out ASAP.

Call your vet. At six weeks old she cannot handle being constipated for very long. Her digestive tract is not very big at this age. The vet will probably do a sort of enema. And please for the sake of kittys belly, lay off the milk, cats tend to be lactose intolerant, you are making things much worse. The do sell cat safe milk--sold in the pet stores.

Mix some kitten milk (not cow milk) with some canned pumpkin. That will help with the constipation.

Give her milk designed for cats, they sell it in the pet food asile at Kroger, Milk for cats.

I also heard that sardine oil helps with constipation.

Stop giving her milk! It can cause constipation, cats are lactose intolerant.
