I am being micromanaged by my boss, who is suddenly being nuts with everyone. I am a teacher. Today, she left a photocopy of a child's notes from social studies in my mailbox. In the notes, were some grammatical errors. I Honestly, when I check children's notebooks, I don't check for grammatical errors. Am I wrong? Or is she being petty?

I would say that if you are a social stuies teacher, it's more important that your students are able to convey what you've been teaching them... some grammatical errors are not a big deal... that's the English department's responsibility...
If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could correct it, but don't mark them down for it.

It's an integral part of your duty to check grammatical errors and teach the kids right things, such as correct grammar, at the earliest. As to whether your senior is being petty or not, it's difficult to make an objective assessment, here on Yahoo! Answers. Only, you and your colleagues, can do that, "in situ."

according to me u should look for the grammatical mistakes too !
now-a-days without english there is no career & u r the teacher so should look after the grammtical mistakes too to make their career a good form
i can understand that social studies is too boring but u r a social studies teacher so u have to check the copies properly
and don't compare the short forms of people on net to the copies of school children
your this behavior may lead to the end of your job!!
go & check the grammatical mistakes too & save your job.....
i also don't like the behavior of your boss!!
but u have to work hard.......
good luck!

Yes you are and not there's not a lot you can do about it.
I can almost top your story. I was called into our Chief of
Police's office and told I was questioning the promotion process
and other things there.
Then I was told that another supervisor had "accidentally overhead this" when the guy continually hid outside where we
write our reports to get dirt and gossip on us.
When I protested I didn't say this, I was told that he believed about 50 percent of what he hears. The thought occurred to me that 50 percent of total B.S. is still wrong.
Hang in there, if the job is worth it, you gotta take it in stride.
Once your facade cracks and this petty tyrant knows they are getting under your skin it only gets worse.
Generally speaking these mean-spirited little dictators get theirs sooner or later. Just picture Mussolini hanging upside down next to his mistress after the fall of Italian Fascism... works for me!

It's not at all your problem, it's is the students or the English teachers fault. But you can tell her that she is having some grammar mistakes so that she can rectify her mistakes.
