They barly remember him and my olderst 5 year old son calls him a stranger and says he dosnt like him. Ive never put anything in his head to make him think this. When ever he asks I just say We are happy right, maybe he is too. or i dont know hunny. I want to get full custody and wondering if its hard to do it in Canada.He also has never given me any money for them ever! what do i do?

Get a lawyer and file for custody. You should not have much of a problem at all since there was no Child support given.
It's not a pleasant job but necessary in you're case, for the children's sake. Now they don't have stability regarding a man but are in need for it and out there may be a very nice man that would love to be a real Dad to you're Children.
Fight for you're Kids, it's worth it. Good Luck!

This is a tough dilemma. From a legal perspective you can gain full custody by showing abandonment, and if terms had been set for child support, you can show he violated those terms.
I think you are very intelligent to not fill your childrens heads with negativity about their dad. One time I heard a therapist tell a group of men and women divorcing that they should never put each other down around their children because the child represented 50% of each of their DNA..so in essence if one parent, put down the child's other parent, they would in fact be putting down the child. Plus children change and come to want to know the absent father/mother sometimes. Your children will find out soon enough the truth regarding the character of their absent father.
