Ok, I had no dental insurance and an EXCRUCIATING, MIND-NUMBING, ALL_CONSUMING toothache for about a month and a half.
Then, gradually over about a week, it stopped.

Why is this? Is the nerve dead? Could there be an abscess? Will I need to get it removed? AHHHHH! Help!

:!

It's probably because there is no inflammation surrounding the nerve. Don't get too happy it will come back.

Call around and ask if a dentist could take payments if not there are dental credit company's that will loan you money (Credit Care) that will not charge you interest for a year as long as you pay the balance before that years up.

Good luck and stay away from sugary foods until you get that fixed.

You may have developed an abscess beneath the tooth and that need antibiotics. You dentist really isn't 20ft tall wielding an axe and using a road drill while wearing a hard hat. The reason your feeling so sensitive about the dentist is because you cannot see what he is doing in your mouth. Your mouth is not something you see every day and so its quite a private place. If you could watch him at work you would not be afraid any longer. Now calm down, imagine him wearing a hard hat while doing his work. Laugh,

It means that the pain has stopped....for now! When it comes back (and it will) you will be sorry that you didn't get it taken care of when you should have. Did you know that an infected tooth can kill you if you if you don't get it taken care of? Go to the dentist. Set up a payment plan. Remember. If you ignore your teeth, they Will go away!

You dont have an abscess yet, but you will if you dont get to a dentist soon. Some dentists will take payments. You should call around and find one. If it does get infected, it will hurt worse than before. You need to hurry and call because it will hurt again.

sometimes the infection just heals itself if its a mild one, but their are chances that the nerves could be damaged, and its always better to get it checked out because it can lead to swollen lympnodes which are REALLY painful!! So best bet is just go for a check up as soon as you can.

The tooth is most likely dead but the infection remains and will continue to invade your other teeth. Gargle with orange Listerine, it tastes great and the staph germs that are the culprit here will be destroyed and give you some time to get some $$ together to have the tooth pulled!

Because, you had an abscessed tooth and the nerves in it are now dead. It would be cheaper to have it removed instead of a crown and stuff. You have to decide if it's worth saving.
