Stop panicking. You JUST got the puppy. He is very young, probably even too young to be away from his mom. He must be scared. Give him a few days to get use to new environment and all of you. He and your dog will play for sure, but it cannot happen in a second.
Good luck with your new puppy.

He is too young, he is like a little baby and probably misses his mum and litter mates. Your other dog is strange and scary to him. Really he should not have left his mother till he was 6-8 weeks old at least so you will have to take very good care of him. Don't leave him alone with the other dog just yet. You need to supervise their play until you are sure they will be OK together. Puppy will need a quiet place to go when he is tired where he will not be bothered by other pets or family members.

Hes just a month old. Pups can be taken away from their mom whn they are 3 or 4 months old and up.but not a month old. hes too young. he wouldnt play with your other dogs because u just got him and hes too small maybe too play with them. Maybe hes scared, because of the neew environment, new owner.Dont bring him back to the puppy place maybe hell be much safer and you can get him lots of attention when hes with you. Good luck with your pup. Give him a week or two then he'll be playin with the other canines in no time.

The puppy place sounds like a puppymill. A pup should be with thier mom until they are 8wks old. Your pup is still a "new" born. Right now he needs comfort & love. Eventually he will want to play, but right now he needs you to be a mom. Every day your pup will do and accept new things in his life, give him some time, he's just a little pup. He needs time to adjust to his new surroundings, he will be just fine.
My concern is why are you so quick to get rid of him, he is not a play toy, he is a little baby, give him time to grow up.

Pups should be no less then 6 weeks old when they are taken from the parent, this pup is too young and needs its mother, where did you get it? the seller is very irrisponsible and should not be dealing in animals.
But seems you have it now give them a bit of time, they will get to know each other better.
The pup may be very nervous of your dog, but it will loosen up and get playful when the dogs have worked out the pecking order.
When choosing a companion pet, take your pet with you and let them choose the new pet, as they are the ones who have to like them and live with them.

He's still a new baby at 1 month old -
like all new babies, your 1 month old Dachshund will sleep a lot of the time. In a few months, he will be chewing up your shoes.
He's too young to play with an adult dog - like children, give them time to become acquainted and get used to living together.

ONE month old?!? That is far, far too young to have taken that pup away from it's mother. Are you sure that's the age of the pup????????
Please take the dog to the vet at the very least. You are going to need a lot of help to make sure this pup stays healthy.

He can't be 1 month old. That's way too young to be taken away from his mother and he still needs mothers milk. Besides that, a new puppy need time to adjust and I personally think you got him for the wrong reason.

This pup is too young to be away from it's mother. You need to take it back right now and go get him again when he's at least 8 weeks old but better at 12 weeks.

At 1 month, he's still too young to be away from his mom!!! If you send him to the vet, they may get him strong enough to be with an older dog. Or, be able to find him a new home, if you're uncomfortable keeping him.
