I was taking both to help recover from severe injuries last may. I did it for a few weeks, which mad me feel great, however I really couldn't handle feeling so sluggish in the mornings, and spacey throughout the day. I personally did not want to take them for long term use, so I cut back on them, and started feeling better without them.
I'm just telling you my story, I hope it helps.

i'm not sure what you are taking but most times standard drugs are a temporary fix, used along with therapy to locate the root of the problem. there really are so many side effects with different drugs and a combo of drugs varies by patient. I would hope you have a good doctor and therapist that work together, if you go to the doctors and tell them you want to work your way off of each things they should guide you in the right direction. that being said of course there are people that take things for years, they should help you decide these things. my only warning is don't stop taking anything on your own. (i've done it and you'll get really sick) Truth is you need to go to the doctors and voice your concerns and work things thru, in the long run it will be better for you. don't just let them prescribe you things if you think you don't need it. Good luck Take care.

Well that is a hard one to answer, since you did not name the anti depressive, or the sleeping tables. Now sleeping tablets , just become addictive and when you are taken off of them, then you just have trouble getting to sleep again without them, so i would try to learn another way of getting to sleep, then taking sleeping aids. You know medication is not always the answer to things.

Anti depressents haev certain side effects but they are usually miimal. However, the same is not true of sleeping pills. There has been a lot written recently about them and not much of it is good. 5-HTP or melatonin both can help sleep more safely.

I was on them both for about a year. They didn,t solve the problem, they just masked it and made me a slave/ zombie. try a none drug therapy ( I'm not anti drug ) but the approach you say is not a cure, its a suppressant.
