newmarket : i'm not a favourite backer either , what do you look for when your looking to have a bet , and have you any antepost tips for cheltenham and the classics . i like hardy eustace i think he has a great chane to take the champion hurdle , kauto star as good as he is i dont think he'll be good enough in the gold cup if they run him so i'm taking to last years winner for that one , teofilo looks a real superhorse in the making but i'm going for holy roman emperor in the 2000 guineas and teofilo i think will be too good in the derby unless something else comes out that has'nt had a run yet . it looks like its going to be another good year for irelands trainers .

I'm no one special, just someone who works in the industry.

I only ever bet on big race meetings or when I am actually at the racecourse so I'm afraid I don't have a nap of the day. I'm not happy parting with my money unless I can see the horse in the flesh, and I don't back favourites!

I'm not big into the National Hunt racing, although I do enjoy watching it. I had a good Cheltenham last year having backed Voy Por Ustedes and Star de Mohaison. I have a soft spot for Ashley Brook, and providing he is back to full health, 20-1 in the Queen Mother Champion Chase looks tempting! He has his comeback race on Saturday at Cheltenham.
There is a lot of hype surrounding Kauto Star, but he needs to get his jumping sorted as he has put in a few dodgy leaps!

I'm a flat girl at heart, so I'm really looking forward to the coming season. You are right, Teofilo and Holy Roman Emperor have all before them in their Classic year, and I would like to see Sander Camillo do well for the fillies.

Generally when I look at a horse I look for attitude and the way the horse walks. If a horse walks well he should gallop well, and attitude is everything! I also look at the pedigree and the way previous races that day have been run. I backed VIRGINIA WATERS in the 1,000 Guineas a few years ago just because I noticed that her sire, Kingmambo, had sired two winners on the same card already. She came in at a very tasty 12-1!

I also go on gut instinct, if a horse takes your eye, stick with it. I've made the mistake of changing my mind in the past and have lost out as a result.
