I honestly believe so.

Sometimes my oldest cat just stares into the hallway, run back and forth into different rooms. Or will do all of that and come sit right beside me and never leave my side for hours.

Cats are very perceptive creatures. May have seen a ghost, but most likely saw a small fly dancing around the ceiling. Mine act's the same way and then I find the bug and watch, too.

yes I believe it. animals are sensitive to things. When I was younger,I had a cat that would sleep with me. One night it got up and bolted. A couple of seconds later the inter-locking ceiling tile come down and stopped in a v-shape above my head. So, something spooked it before that happened.

They do say that animals are extra sensitive to things like that. My cat looks down the hall the same way he watches me walk down the hall when no one is there. Sometimes I see him looking intensely at nothing and I freak out a little but often times there is some bug he's watching.

I just posted a similar question. My cat all of a sudden is "seeing" something in the corner of my room. She will stare, look up and down like something is moving and she will paw at the wall. This has been happening for 3 days.

I think they do things to freak us all out then go laugh behind our backs at us. I have three cats and they do the weirdest things. Our house is not that old , is not over a cemetery nor has had any human tragedies and they still do things like look up the stairs as if they are looking at someone.

The most scientific way would be to take a survey of 1,000 cats of all kind from all over the world, house cats, alley cats, kittens, alike. Calculate the data with the finest super computer in the land, and after many hours of deliberation from noble prize winning scientists, share the findings with the world.

Oh...I forgot one thing..

CATS CAN'T TALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. I think pets (dogs and cats esp.) can smell or sense the presence of others. I have had direct experience with my cats doing the same kind of things. Who needs John Edward (lol).

Yes I do believe they are much more in touch with the spirit world than we are. I know my cat sees the spirit of the cat we had before her, no doubt in my mind. Cats are awesome animals.
