There isn't an explanation for autism. There is a wide spectrum of autistic behaviours. Different people are affected to different degrees and respond to different treatments.
There are many theories as to the causes of autism; there may be genetic component in some cases but this isn't agreed on by all experts

Its not known what actually triggers Autism, but its obvious what part of the body it affects.

It could be a hormone imbalence in the womb like down syndrome, or a disease like motor neuron.

Noone actually knows what causes Autism. Anything anyone says here would be a guess.

Their is no trigger but it is the brain that is not the same as non-autistic people's. Genetics can be one pre-disposing factor and other theories say high levels of mercury in the diet of the mother during pregnancy but no one really knows what causes it. It's difficult to say whether the 10% or possibly higher % now over the last 14 years is due to better diagnosis or an actual increase in the disorder due to factors not known yet. maybe environmental who knows?

although autism is a condition that is seen to affect a childs behaviour it can also affect their senses, digestion and tolerances, so yes it would affect the brain, but may not be the ultimate cause.

I have worked with children who won't eat certain foods because of the texture, or are even hypersensitive to changes in surfaces like laminate flooring and the glare of the lights off it
