No, this is not true and is an old wisetail. No cat is prone to being deaf due to colouration. There is a gene that can be past down, but nothing to do with the colour.

my white cat had blue eyes and was deaf....not a problem really as he was so pretty ....however you could not call him...he just came when he was good and ready. He also liked to sleep on the middle of the road in the sun.....warm ? perhaps. I would hear cars sounding their horns. He never moved and became well known. Drivers would stop get out of car, pick him up and pop him over the gate then drive off

I've had 2 cats *white with blue eyes" and neither were deaf.

Yup it is true, i had that cat when i was younger, my cat used his eyes to watch out everything, even can't hearing but can feel the bass. Since the cat is very small and can feel anything so its very normal since white cat with blue eye can't hear.

No you can't judge any body because of its looks. It even can be deaf or not even black cats could be dead.
