I've tried hiphop dancing, and I lost ten pounds but it made my legs bigger because of the muscle. Now I'm thinking of doing step aerobics that's high energy & low impact, and lasts for 45 minutes. What do you think? I want to slim, not create bulk, especially on my thighs.

I've heard that running makes legs bigger, so I'm not doing that.

Sounds OK. Your local gyms (if you haven't checked them out already) have a great selection of jazzed up cardo classes that can be heaps of fun all exercise will tone your muscles to some degree wether you like it or not swimming will tone your arms and legs, step will tone your legs etc people who have all ways been slim tend not to have this tone but a small amount look good. You say you don't want bulk on your thighs so I'm gonna assume they are not your favourite body part and have some bulk already if you want to move ... if you want to achieve that gap between your thighs (you may not have this problem i don't know) try laying on your side and lifting your top leg as far as you can and wright the alphabet in the air with your big toe ( be carefull not to lean backwards it stops this exercise from working ) it targets the inner thigh giving you a nice big gap that looks good when you wear jeans

Not the best workout for your goals(unlss of course it's working for you). You did not state how many sets/reps per muscle group so the issue of overtraining is still open. Try some Push/Pull Routines and try Pyramid sets. Go to the site in the source. Good info. You listed six days! Your not getting the recovery you think with the way your muscle groups are grouped. Add more core excercises(trunk rotation, obliques crunches, leg raises, low back extension, etc). I'd consider days off in between and only hit each muscle group once a week. All this depends on your goals. You have to remember that your body will adjust and you will see no more gains. I go through a phase were I need over a week to recover. Over training will make you smaller! Try a full body routine. 1 set per excercise to shake things up. Are you body building or just trying to add a little muscle mass. #1 Rule: If your happy with your results and progress then your workout is working for you. #2 Do not overtrain, get alot of sleep, proper nutrition. #3 What works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa. It also may not work for you in the future. I have more workouts then days in a year. Opinions on weightlifting are like..well you know. Everyone has one AND The advice to pick one... MASS or BURN FAT is some of the greatest advice you will ever get. Do one than work on the other. It' snot only easier but spares your mental well being woo.

Doing step aerobics is also going to increase the size of your thighs but it is muscle and will make your legs a lovely shape. You should also walk at a brisk pace. Try to walk a mile in around 8 to 10 minutes. Walking is one of the best aerobic workouts and puts the least amount of strain on knees and ankles.

swimming would be your best bet. Running would be your second best option. Dont eat to many proteins either.
