This isn't a huge problem but if it bothers you why not get a dishwasher. My daughter has mild OCD and I find if she manages to overcome one thing she usually develops something else so being neat is probably the lesser of two evils.
Ask yourself - What do you think might happen if you leave the cups and plates in a mess - if your answer is irrational and you know it is try to talk yourself as if you are advising someone else.
Hope you manage to solve your problems I know how hard it can be for the sufferer and those with whom they live.
Trust me on this nothing bad will happen if you leave the plates and cups in a heap try it and see.

It sounds like you developed OCD yes. I would suggest you consult your doctor regarding the medication you take at present. I do not think the medication could be the cause of the OCD, but for how long have you been taking the Diazapam?? Remember some of these pills have a negative reaction second to none if you take it for too long a period, i.e. pins-and-needles feeling, insomnia etc. Perhaps you suffer from anxiety attacks and the OCD symptons are merely your brain trying to cope with the anexiety attack? It would however be best to consult a reputable physician. Do not play with medicine, it is very dangerous!!

If the cleaning is not seriously disrupting your day (as in doing it for hours obsessively), then join the club of millions of people who are just plain "neat freaks" "Type A's"... whatever you want to call it.

If it is seriously disrupting your day, talk to your doctor about your medication options. There are medications out there such as Luvox for treating OCD. Talk to your doctor to find a regime that works. You will get there eventually. Hang in there.

I think you are labelling yourself too much, let go a bit, you don't sound that bad, I do things sometimes obsessively, we are all a bit OCD! don't reply too much on medication, have you ever tried healing? it will really help you I think,it's done by laying on the hands on specific energy points on the body & transferring healing energy, it'll heal you on all levels, emotional, mental, physical, spiritual etc if you're in UK, NFSH have centres around the country, if you're interested please go here & type in ur postcode for your nearest centre:
http://www.nfsh.org.uk/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,70/
(PS>they work on doantions only)
if you feel really low, do things to cheer yourself up, listen to some soothing music, do some yoga, keep positive. Keep repeating: I am positive.
I thought I'd let you know about these books, thought it might help:
