I need to get out of the house for 10 days in April while my bathroom is done. At the same time, I am writing a book and need to concentrate on it and get inspired. I need a comfortable place, not too old fashioned, with/close to internet access (ideally wireless). I would like to be in a pleasant place surrounded/close to nature to have some walks around. I cannot go too far because I need to come back home a couple of times to check on the work. I am in London SE6 (Southeast corner). My budget is up to £100 per day. Double room, very clean, with shower. Gym desirable but jogging area would do as well. Perhaps on the coast around Whistable, or in green Kent... The area should be nice but the hotel is most important. Any suggestions?

Anywhere out of Catford is a holiday. How about going off to Brighton. Lovely sea air, or as you mentioned perhaps kent, easy to get to from your part of the woods. Here are a couple of links for you.

Paskins TownHouse in Brighton. Fantastic hotel, and well known for its gorgeous organic breakfasts (veggie and meat).
Straight onto the seafront, so you can sit and write on the beach, and you can get to the Downs easily for long walks (plenty of bus services).
