What are the symptoms of tonsilitis? Usually when I've had it in the past it's been accomanied by a cold but last night I felt overly tired but couldn't sleep and I've woken up with scarlet tonsils and feel all achey and cold and groggy but have no cold symptoms. Is it possible I do have tonsilitis? Been drinking pineapple juice and warm lemon and honey to try clearing it but seems to be getting worse lol

Hi, I have had tonsillitis many times and the symptoms are usually, cold, headaches, sore throat and sometimes in a case of infection you can get little white spots at the back of ur throat.
But I would keep taking the paracetemol aswell as the honey and lemon drinks, as it will take the pain away, the honey and lemon will only just sooth ur throat.

x

Sounds like you have it! Tonsillitis may cause the tonsils, which are visible at the back of the throat, to look red and enlarged. The tonsils may also have visible white or yellow spots or a thin coating. The symptoms of tonsillitis usually last four to six days. Most doctors will recommend treatments designed to keep a patient comfortable while the disease runs its course. Treatments include bed rest, drinking extra fluids, gargling with warm salt water, and taking pain relievers to reduce fever. Eating frozen juice bars or drinking either cold fruit drinks or warm tea or broth can also bring some relief of sore throat pain.

I used to get very bad sore throats that it turned out to be Quincy in the end i had to have my tonsils out .that was a few years ago And no sore throat since. You could gargle with warm waret with a teaspoon full of salt every 4 hours to help at the moment Some people are allergic to fruit So leave them until you feel better.

The symptoms are pretty much what you described. I had tonsillitis a while ago, following a swollen gland in my jaw. When I had it, I found it painful to swallow, and it felt like I had something lodged in the back of my throat - It actually appeared that the skin was peeling off my tonsils!

Gargle salt water, and take anti-inflammatory painkillers, such as ibuprofen.

Gargle with hot very salty water at least 3 times a day and it will go away sooner. It's nasty but effective and beats a sore throat.

Awww... bless. The symptoms are a sore throat that hurts when you swallow.

Avoid paracetomaol, and instead keep taking honey regularly, drink lots of water, keep warm and time will heal all.

loves it :)
