Dear God, our Father,

I don't see why not you should be able to say whatever you want in a prayer to God he accepts all. I sometimes add extra to alot of my prayers to God, you could ask god to protect our men and women who are fighting to keep them safe and out of harms way, there so much that can be added just do what your heart tells you and if you need to say something extra to god than add an extra line or 2 . He's always there for us.

You need to open any prayer by telling God how wonderful He is. So, start it with something like, "Dear God. You are a wonderful and giving spirit. We are forever greatful for everything that you have done for us. By sending Jesus to cleanse our sins, we are free to live and worship you."
Then add your part.
