Im guessing by those names that it is a boy.
Muttley!
Jack
Scrappy is a cool name!
You'll probably end up looking after him when the novelty wears off with the kids so I say go with scrappy.
After a few weeks the kids will be used to it and onto the next subject.

I tend to come up with a shortlist of names and then settle on one when I have met the new arrival. My current dog is called Gordon and the dogs I have owned in the past were called Roy and Joshua.
I actually think Leon is quite a nice name; my uncle had a Jack Russel cross and called it Radish! The one he had before that was called Monty. Hope you manage to choose a name everyone is happy with!

Jack Russels are lively little guys. They need lively names. I LOVE animals BUt I do NOT like the "slang" names. I prefer proper names. I choose a few names and call the animal the different names at look at it and somehow I can "see" when a particular name suits it. Weird but it works for me!! Try:
Max
Bobby
George
Tika
Monty
Suna
Nikki
Ben
Kimi
Dusty

Mutts are the best dogs ! Scrappy is too common.....Does he look "common" to you? NO-WAY !! Don't hear too many dogs with the name Leon do you? I'm with the kids on this one ! Leon it is....and to the adult -- you'll probably be calling him several other adjectives before you actually use his name anyway...at least until he gets out of his puppy stage.....LOL

I'd say write down all of the names your family like and pick one out of the hat, but don't be naughty and write scrappy on all of the pieces!! I think the children sound more mature after all when I was a kid I would of chosen scrappy and my parents would of went for Leon (only they named my pain in the butt brother that instead)!
My dogs are called:
Lemmy (English Bull Terrier)
Lilly (English Bull Terrier)
Taz (Jrt)
My previous dogs were named:
Oscar (Gsd)
Oden(Gsd)
Spotty (Jrt & Taz's dad)
Bear (Gsd)
Lucky (Lurcher)
Digger (Jrt)
Kickstart (Lab)
Dino(Lab)
Teddy(Little ankle biter thing)
**** face (only joking).
Our cats are called Billy and Runt put the two together and work out the cockny slang!! (silly C**T)!!
I thought it was a good name for them.

I think Scrappy is a much better name. I have nothing against mutts, I have always rescued mutts, much more rewarding. How about seeing if they want to call it Muttley (as in Dasterdley and Muttley). If not then I think you should stick with your guns and call him Scrappy!

I asked a similar question when we got our pup and some of the suggestions I thought were great were Dudley, Higgins, Digby or Scout. I am also fond of the name Duster.
Brest is a great alternative tho'!! I have a friend with two cats - one is called Tess and the other is Tickles! Not sure what his neighbours make of it when he stands on his doorstep calling them in!
